Egg-cited About First Lady Michelle Obama’s First Easter Egg Roll Live Stream

I have been waiting for this day since November 4, 2008. First Lady Obama hosted her firs White House Easter Egg Roll. Yay! Now I am going to go on blogcation until the lighting of the National Christmas Tree. Just kidding
(maybe). The White House is Live Streaming the events all day, the live coverage ends at 4:00PM EST
Here is the First Lady’s Welcome:
MRS. OBAMA: All right — okay, it’s working. Welcome everybody. I don’t have much to say. I want to welcome you all to the 2009 White House Easter Egg Hunt. Yay!
Our goal today is just to have fun. We want to focus on activity, healthy eating. We’ve got yoga, we’ve got dancing, we’ve got storytelling, we’ve got Easter egg decorating. Oh, we’ve got basketball — (applause) — a little soccer, as well. And we want everybody to think about moving their bodies, get out — we don’t have tennis; it’s on the tennis court — the peanut gallery back here. (Laughter.)
So the goal today is to have fun, to get out and play. And let’s get things started with the Easter Egg Roll. Thank you all for coming today. Have fun. Thanks so much.

Here is a message from First Lady Michelle Obama:
Welcome to the 2009 Easter Egg Roll, a White House tradition since 1878! This is the largest public event that we have held at the White House since we greeted guests in the Blue Room the day after the Inauguration. We expect as many as 30,000 families from 45 states and the District of Columbia to converge on the South Lawn today.
This year’s theme is Let’s Go Play! We want to encourage kids to lead healthy, active lives and today’s activities will include basketball on the White House court, soccer, a dance floor, yoga, and Double Dutch! We also have a reading stage, a music stage – some special guests will perform throughout the day – and a Kids Kitchen where White House and guest chefs will teach kids how to cook easy, energizing snacks and meals. In addition to all of these new activities, we have 13,000 hardboiled eggs ready for the traditional Easter Egg Roll and Egg Hunt!
Be sure and check back throughout the day as we will be live-streaming coverage of the events. It is going to be a very special day and a great way to celebrate the start of the Spring season.
