It is a biographical comic series that highlights women in leadership. Past issues profiled Gov. Sarah Palin and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.
She’s not faster than a speeding bullet or more powerful than a locomotive.
Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Hardly.
But First Lady <a title=”Michelle Obama” href=”http://michelleObamawatch.com/topic/politics/michelle-Obama-PECLB005380.topic”>Michelle Obama is poised to become a superhero next month when a biographical comic book hits the stands.
The publisher, Bluewater Productions, is already overwhelmed with orders for the Michelle Obama comic. In fact, they expect it to outsell previous issues:
While the Clinton and Palin comics are already on their second printings, their publisher believes Obama will be an even bigger seller. Distributors have stopped taking orders temporarily while Washington-based Bluewater Productions catches up with the demand.
Darren Davis, Bluewater President, implied that the response to the comic’s release has been unbelievable. It is as though he found the goose that laid the golden egg:
“I feel like the guy who invented the Furby,” Bluewater President Darren Davis said. “The reaction has been insane.”
And yes, the first lady will be sleeveless:
Obama does not possess any superpowers in the comic, but the cover depicts her in a sleeveless top that highlights the most famous arms in Washington.
Out of respect for the first family, neither Sasha nor Malia will be featured in the comic:
The 22-page comic also avoids any illustrations of Malia or <a title=”Sasha Obama” href=”http://michelleObamawatch.com/topic/politics/sasha-Obama-PECLB004381.topic”>Sasha Obama, a decision the publisher made to steer clear of the controversy surrounding the Ty Girlz dolls created in the sisters’ image earlier this year.
According to the article, the comic will officially hit the stands on April 25 at .99 per copy.
