The Obamas Worship at St. John’s on Easter Sunday
Continuing to search for a church home, the Obamas attended St. Johns Easter Sunday. As most will recall, St. John’s is the same church the new President and First Lady attended the morning of the inauguration in January. Five presidents, beginning with President Franklin Roosevelt, selected St. John’s to attend on the day they were inaugurated. And according to their website, 700 marchers during the March on Washington chose St. John’s as a place of worship.
Okay! I admit it! This one time when I was really anxious to see what the First Lady wore on this Easter Sunday. And I really liked the 2-piece suit she was wore. I would not be honest, though, if I said that I wasn’t at least a tad bit disappointed that she didn’t wear a hat. I mean one of those first Sunday – pastor’s anniversary – mother’s day Hats that only the fine sisters at any “second missionary baptist church” can truly do justice. But, I do understand – because folks are STILL talking about Aretha’s hat – which, I liked ::smile::!
